Overview: Workflow settings (Console)
This article provides an overview of the settings panel of workflows in Console.
Every workflow has a panel of settings that apply to the entire workflow. You can access the settings panel by clicking the tri-dot icon in the top-right corner of a workflow.
Continue reading this article for a breakdown of what each of the pieces of information in the settings panel is.
Visual breakdown
Workflow Name: The global name for the workflow. This is distinct from the version name.
Category: The Category field is where you’ll find the workflow’s assigned category, which is defined upon workflow creation. This category controls which workflow modules are available to you when building the workflow. The category can’t be changed once it’s set. This is the category for all workflow versions, too. Read Overview: Workflow categories to learn more about each category and how it’s assigned.
Type: The Type field is where you’ll see the workflow’s type, which is assigned to the workflow upon creation. These are the current workflow types: Event, Scheduled, or Subroutine. The type can’t be changed, and this is the workflow’s type for all versions.
Secure: The Secure toggle is where you’ll see whether the workflow was marked as ‘Secure’ or not upon workflow creation. All workflows are secure; just secured workflows have an additional security layer or additional data limitations. The secure setting can’t be changed. The defined secure setting is the same setting for all workflow versions. Read the Secure subroutines section of the Overview: Subroutines article to learn more about secure workflows.
Version created on: The name and date of when the workflow version was created (not published).
Default Workflow Voice Setting: The default text-to-speech setting for the workflow. Unless specific settings are configured on an individual module, these settings are what’s used whenever text to speech is initiated. You can choose the language and voice. You can use the play button to test any speech you put into the text box.
Fake Typing Events: Defines whether fake typing events will be used during messaging interactions. Fake typing is when the system shows typing bubbles to the customer to signal that someone is responding.
