Add a custom field to a company contact object (Console)
This article explains how to add a custom field to a company contact through Objects in Console.
Steps
1. Log into Console at console.avaya.cx.
2. Navigate to Objects.
3. Click Companies.
4. Click the Fields tab.
5. Click the New Field button in the top-right corner of the screen.
6. Provide a name for the field. The API name will automatically generate below the name you input, although you may modify it if you wish.
7. In the Type selector, choose a type for the field. The list of available types are:
Checkbox: A selector used for true/false recordings (i.e. Has been contacted?).
Currency: Used for recording monetary values (i.e. $10.00).
Date: Used for recording a date.
Datetime: Used for recording a date and a time.
Email: Used for recording an email address.
Number: Used for recording a number.
Percent: Used for recording a percentage value.
Phone: Used for recording a phone number.
Picklist: Used for recording one option from a list of multiple options.
Picklist-multi: Used for recording one or more options from a list of multiple options.
Text: Used for recording a short snippet of text.
Textarea: Used for recording a longer piece of text.
Time: Used for recording a time.
URL: Used for recording a URL address to a website.
8. Select whether the field is Required or not. This means that, when a piece of data is created using the object, the field is either required to have a value or not. If an object is required to have a value, it can’t exist without some value populating the field.
9. Select whether the field is Read Only. This means that, once set, the field can’t be modified by anyone.
NOTE: The Required and Read Only toggles when creating a custom field.
10. Click Save to finalize creation of the field.
