Add a custom field to an individual contact object (Console)

Console > Objects > Add a custom field to an individual contact object (Console)

This article explains how to add a custom field to an individual contact through Objects in Console

Steps

1. Log into Console at console.avaya.cx.

2. Navigate to Objects.

3. Click Individuals. 

4. Click the Fields tab

5. Click the New Field button in the top-right corner of the screen. 

6. Provide a name for the field. The API name will automatically generate below the name you input, although you may modify it if you wish. 

7. In the Type selector, choose a type for the field. The list of available types are: 

8. Select whether the field is Required or not. This means that, when a piece of data is created using the object, the field is either required to have a value or not. If an object is required to have a value, it can’t exist without some value populating the field. 

9. Select whether the field is Read Only. This means that, once set, the field can’t be modified by anyone.

NOTE: The Required and Read Only toggles when creating a custom field. 

10. Click Save to finalize creation of the field.
